Te rohe o Te Rarawa, Te Rarawa kaiwhare
I tīmata te rohe o Te Rarawa
Mai i Te Puna o Hokianga, Hokianga, Hokianga
I Te Oneroa-a-Whāro ā Tōhē
Ka whiti i te wahapū o Ōwhata tae atu
Ki Te Kauae-o-Ruru-Wahine
Roanga atu i te ākau o Mitimiti
I ngā onepū o Mātihetihe me Te Rangi
Hokianga Whakapau Karakia
Nā ka mau ngā pangataonga

The boundaries of Te Rarawa
Te Rarawa Iwi encompass the areas beginning from Hokianga
Eastwards following the Hokianga River to
Mangataipa, situated at the base of Maungataniwha
Northwards along the ranges of Raetea to Takahue
And following down the Pamapuria River to Maimaru, across to Awanui
And westwards to Hukatere on the Ninety-
Look toward Te Reinga to Te Rerenga Wairua
We bid farwell to those who have gone beyond the veil
Turn back towards Te Oneroa-a-Wharo
Tohe, Ahipara southwards to Tauroa
Continue towards the harbour of Ōwhata and Whāngāpē
Along the coastline to Mitimiti to the sand-dunes of Matihetihe and Te Rangi
Arriving back to Hokianga Whakapau Karakia
Therefore you will capture the many interrelationships of Te Rarawa Kaiwhare

This waiata was written originally by Malcom Peri of Te Uri o Tai hapū as a Te Rarawa pepeha describing the Iwi boundaries for Te Rarawa in 2001. It has since been adopted as part of the Te Rūnanga o Te Rarawa constitution. The pepeha was then arranged by Sherry Pomare of Ngāti Manawa hapū and Charlton Te Wake of Ngāti Te Rēinga, Te Waiāriki hapū, for the Te Rarawa Noho Taiao in 2012 as a haka and a whakaeke.
